National Forum,Kuwait (NGK) marks yet another milestone in its cultural calendar with the grand celebration of Onachamayam 2025. This spectacular event, filled with traditional fervor and festive spirit, brought together members, families, and well-wishers for an evening brimming with joy, unity, and cultural pride.
The program was formally inaugurated by our esteemed NAFO Patron, Sri Sunil Parakkapadath, who lit the ceremonial lamp and delivered an inspiring inaugural address. In his message, the Patron eloquently highlighted the significance of Onam as a festival that transcends barriers and unites people. He beautifully articulated that Onam is not merely a harvest festival but a reminder of Kerala’s timeless values of equality, brotherhood, and shared prosperity. NAFO’s Onachamayam reflected these values magnificently by bringing our community together in celebration.
The day unfolded with a vibrant line-up of programs, beginning with the traditional Pookkalam (floral carpet) arrangements and the symbolic Maveli welcome. This was followed by a series of cultural performances that showcased Kerala’s rich heritage, including classical dance, devotional and folk songs, skits, and art forms such as Mohiniyattam and Kerala Natanam depictions. The event also marked the formal inauguration of NAFO GLOBAL – Kuwait (NGK) iconic annual program of the year, “VARNAM”.
Adding to the festivities was the much-awaited Onasadya (grand feast), which delighted everyone with its authentic flavors of Kerala. The children’s performances and interactive cultural activities further enriched the event, making it an unforgettable experience for both the young and the old.
On this joyous occasion, NGK President R Vijay Krishnan expressed heartfelt gratitude to the committees and members, stating, “The success of Onachamayam 2025 is a true example of teamwork. The Advisory Board, Executive Committee, Program Committee, and Ladies Wing worked tirelessly to make this celebration a reality. Above all, it was the overwhelming participation and support of our members that made this Onam memorable.”
The event concluded with resounding applause and heartfelt camaraderie, leaving participants with cherished memories and a renewed spirit of cultural pride.
